Things to Know about Northern Campus Library and Annex

Wake Tech's Northern Campus (6600 Louisburg Road - Raleigh NC 27616) hosts two library spaces:  the primary library (BB 239) and the library annex (BE 230/240).

  • Computers - available on a first-come, first-served basis - Log in using your key account username and password (same as Blackboard and WebAdvisor). Computers are intended for research purposes; students using Facebook or other social media may be asked to relinquish the computer if there are students waiting to do research. Please log off when finished.
  • Online Resources - We have loads of resources available online through our library guides, NCLIVE and the Wake Tech Databases. You can also access the library catalog and request materials from other libraries if we don't have what you need. If you are off-campus, you will need to access our databases through the WTCC Library website and enter your key account username and password (same as Blackboard and WebAdvisor).

The following services are only available at the primary library location (BB 239):

  • Books, DVDs and More
Items are available for check out and in-library use at the primary library location. There are no books in the library annex.
  • Group Study Rooms
Eight Group Study Rooms are available on Northern Campus. All provide a table, white board and seats for 6 or 7 depending on the room. Two rooms also have a computer. Study room can be reserved up to 1 week (at least 12 hours) in advance, after that time study rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis by contacting the library circulation desk. These rooms are checked out to students at the Circulation Desk for a maximum of two hours per group.
  • Laptops
The library checks out laptops to be used in the library during busy periods and also to take home for the weekend. You must be a current curriculum student with no fines or holds on your record. You must present your student ID and Driver's License at the Circulation Desk in order to check out a laptop.
  • Reserves
Textbooks and Other Items are provided to the library by instructors and are placed on reserve for in-library student use. If you need to use the copy on reserve, just check it out at the Circulation Desk and know that you can use it in the library for up to two hours at a time.

Click link above to get more information regarding Library Reserves. The Books, Textbooks and More Tab (above) will provide more information on how to search for reserve items.
  • Study Space
You may like to listen to music while you study, but your classmates may prefer total quiet. To accommodate different peoples needs, the library zoned into Quiet zones, where you can listen to music with headphones, and Silent zones where no sound is allowed. Please choose the appropriate zone for your studying and respect those around you.
