The Top Five Things to know about our Library
We have two library spaces on North Campus. The main library is located in BB 239. There is a library annex in BE 230. There are no books in this location, only study space and a computer lab.
We Have Textbooks
Instructors often leave their textbook on reserve in the library. If you forget your textbook, or decide not to buy one and use the libraries, just check it out at the Information Desk and know that you can use it for up to two hours at a time.
Online Resources
We have loads of resources available online through our library guides, NCLIVE and the Waketech Databases. You can also access the library catalog and request materials from other libraries if we don't have what you need. You will need a password to access our databases online, just stop by the library with your student ID card for more information.
Collaboratory rooms
Our group study rooms allow you a private space to work on projects without worrying about distracting others around you. These rooms require an ID and can be checked out at the Information Desk. Sorry, no reservations.
Zones
You may like to listen to music while you study, but your classmates may prefer total quiet. To accomodate different peoples needs, the library zoned into Quiet zones, where you can listen to music with headphones, and Silent zones where no sound is allowed. Please choose the appropriate zone for your studying and respect those around you.
Laptops to check out
The library checks out laptops to be used in the library during busy periods and also to take home for the weekend. You need to have a student ID and Driver's License and no fines or holds on your record. For more information on this please visit the Information Desk.
